My trip to the London, Paris Summer 2010 Part 1

couch-surfing through my travels then visiting my parents

We have been active in Couch-surfing since 2008 and now it was the time I tried it out by being hosted by other people.
My search of families in London and Paris yield good results...I found 2 families in London and 2 families in Paris that are willing to host us.
We landed in London and took a taxi to the address....I just have 3 kids and one huge bag....well June it is raining and cold in London. The host changed her address and forgot to update me with the new one. Lucky I asked a stranger to lend me his phone and I called her...She quickly answered and said to stay where I am and she will get me soon. Actually she moved just across the street....so no big difference...Our host was gentle and welcoming...Emma wanting to eat Chinese food so we picked some food and we ate back at the house. The next day we looked through the touristic attraction in London....
We ate different ethnic food and had the best time going through the town.....P1010466.jpgP1010465.jpgP1010459.jpgP1010453.jpgP1010451.jpgP1010450.jpgP1010448.jpgP1010447.jpgP1010444.jpg
We took the Euro star Train to Paris....Just took 2 hours and we were in Paris....Again it was so nice to be in the train with the kids....
We arrived in Paris...followed my host direction and took the under-ground and after 20minutes arrived at her place....
Again we puzzed her but no answer.... I borrowed a phone from Chinese owner....and called her....she came in less than 1 minutes and helped us to her place. We had so much fun....P1010668

We walked into a hotel with swimming pool it only cost 20$ a night....What a deal....
We went and saw all the temples that survived thousands of years...... Wow....Everything survived inside a huge jungle.....
our guide in the jungle was 10years old boy that knew many things about the plants, trees, birds, animals.....

Traveling to Guatemala April 2009

First stop Antigua

I don't recall why we chose to go to Guatemala...Either by recommedation from our french couch-surfer or we just got tickets on sale.
It was Spring break...March/April 2009 Yury is almost 2 years....we still carry him on our back-bag.
The first advice that we got is once you arrived at the airport leave Guatemala as fast as possible and head to Antigua.
I am happy we did so....Antigua is such a colorful place... next to an active Volcano...you see many Cathedrals and Churches...
we headed to the Black-cat hotel that we knew about from a couch-surfer.
Antigua is lively city in the day and at night.....most of the food vendors come at nights....we ate the most delicious food of Meat, Rice and beans,
Had the great mocha/ice-cream/cake all in one glass......

we went every day to different tour...the first one was the Volcano....Oh mine it was active Volcano with the Lava,,,,
Bader was brave enough to be in the top and walk next to it....I didn't take a chance with the kids.
The following day we got our belongings and we moved to San Marcus......
It is such nice lake....we found a hotel....very fancy one and we explored Panajachels and the area.

We met friends from Emma's school and Friends through couch-surfing

20 °C

In Paris we met a friend from Emma school...we spend the day with them at the park.
We went to the famous Champs-Elysees. There we had ice-cream and strolled around.
At the Park, the kids went on some rides, They jumped on the Trampolen.
We spent 4 days in Paris then we met Our friend Mary and her boyfriend and went to Luxmborg Palace. There we rented a mini boat
and with stick Yury pushed it through the tiny lake.P1010630.jpgP1010627.jpgP1010626.jpgP1010632.jpg

Then we headed to another hosting Family outside of Paris. I was astounded to find a huge house and the family gave us the first floor for ourselves.

We boarded the train to Boras, Sweden

Our friend waiting for us at the train station Then spending s days before heading home to L.A

It was such a nice ride...I loved the trains across Scandanvian countries....you can go anywhere with good sale tickets and no need for a car.
We made to our friends house...Sunday and our departure to Los Angeles will be that Tuesday.....So my friend Emma a school teacher arrnaged for us Monday to be at her school. There we have to tell the students where we come from...and tell them about our background for 2 hours....
It was o.k experience....Hope the students were not bored with my speech....
Then our big day comes to go home to Los Angeles after being away for the whole summer..... We arrived home Aug 29 2006
The next day we hosted someone from Australia through couch-surfing....this our first encounter with this kind of experience.
