Traveling to Guatemala April 2009

First stop Antigua

I don't recall why we chose to go to Guatemala...Either by recommedation from our french couch-surfer or we just got tickets on sale.
It was Spring break...March/April 2009 Yury is almost 2 years....we still carry him on our back-bag.
The first advice that we got is once you arrived at the airport leave Guatemala as fast as possible and head to Antigua.
I am happy we did so....Antigua is such a colorful place... next to an active Volcano...you see many Cathedrals and Churches...
we headed to the Black-cat hotel that we knew about from a couch-surfer.
Antigua is lively city in the day and at night.....most of the food vendors come at nights....we ate the most delicious food of Meat, Rice and beans,
Had the great mocha/ice-cream/cake all in one glass......

we went every day to different tour...the first one was the Volcano....Oh mine it was active Volcano with the Lava,,,,
Bader was brave enough to be in the top and walk next to it....I didn't take a chance with the kids.
The following day we got our belongings and we moved to San Marcus......
It is such nice lake....we found a hotel....very fancy one and we explored Panajachels and the area.
